Lara Ayris founded WPS in 2009 and since then she and her highly-trained team have specialised in satisfying compliance issues. We work mainly, but not exclusively, for the construction industry.
The Company's achievements have been recognised with a number of prestigious awards, including Small Business of the Year 2011 from EMCBE, Outstanding Woman in Construction in 2012 and Consulting Team of the Year at the 2018 International Women in Compliance Awards.
WPS is registered as a Social Enterprise company and ‘gives back’ whenever it can.
"We first used WPS to prepare a Noise, Dust and Vibration Plan and interface it with a problematic Construction Management Plan for a London project. We were extremely pleased with their speed of response and flexibility of working."
Liz King, DDC Ltd
"Since the introduction of the SWMP Regulations 2008 our organisation has striven to embrace not only the legislative requirements but also the underlying ethos. In embarking on a partnered approach with WPS Ltd we have benefited from their extensive experience, and successfully managed to develop and implement systems to comply with the Regulations requirements and also to contribute positively to best practice operations, resulting in significant project cost reductions.
Support from WPS Ltd has been tailored to our business needs and provided with considerable knowledge, consistently delivered in an enthusiastic and professional manner. Without such support we undoubtedly would have encountered greater difficulty in achieving our aims, passed over the commercial benefits and would not have received commendations from the Environment Agency for our approach and level of implementation."
D. Wallace, Northamptonshire, Watson and Cox
"The SWMP training I received from WPS Ltd was both comprehensive and effective, resulting in my existing knowledge being significantly enhanced. Moreover, the excellent support I received from WPS Ltd after the training had been delivered was equally beneficial."
Jason Rose, Large Construction Company
"WPS Ltd has enabled us to incorporate SWMPs into all of our developments with a seamless transition. Not only has this ensured we are fully legally compliant, but we also hope to see significant cost savings in all aspects of our operations next year."
Ashford Homes (SW) Ltd, Melksham
"WPS Ltd provide a structured and logical programme of the SWMP 2008 legislative requirements and best practice techniques, based upon their knowledge and expertise in this area of environmental management, which is of critical importance to client, consultant and contractor alike."
Adams Smith Consulting, Northamptonshire
"We have been very impressed at the standard and quality of service we received by WPS. They not only ensured we met our legal responsibilities but, through some innovative thinking, found a solution to the waste carpet tiles problem. The most advantageous aspect of the solution, from our point of view, was the low impact on site operations. In addition it greatly enhanced our relationship with our client as they operate a very strong environmental policy."
Nigel Bailey, Hertford, EME Ltd.
"Watson & Cox (Construction) Ltd have developed an excellent working relationship with WPS whilst integrating Site Waste Management Plans into our Construction Phase activities. WPS have provided a high level of training and support during this period, and we have benefitted greatly from their experience and efficiency."
Rebekah Adams, Northamptonshire, Watson and Cox
"Lara is a very knowledgeable individual, and she is passionate about her chosen career. She makes light work of an otherwise tedious and time-consuming subject, resulting in concise and well-presented documentation which will clearly stand up to the closest scrutiny."
Andy Burt, Northampton, Warwick Burt Construction
"Lara Ayris, Managing Director of WPS Limited gave a presentation to the Notts Construction Forum (NCF) Breakfast Briefing in March 2011. The subject was “Profit from your Waste Treatment - A Case Study” This was very well received indeed. As a presentation, it was very well researched, there was excellent clarity of slides on the PowerPoint presentation, and it was expertly delivered. Altogether, Lara held the attention of her audience throughout, and she proved to be highly articulate in delivery. All in all, it was a pleasure to work with Lara and her material was highly relevant in today’s more environmentally conscious construction world."
Ron Glen, Nottingham, Nottingham Construction Forum
"Thank you for the SWMP training, it was of great benefit to work within a small but focused group. I would also like to thank you for your commitment in helping me work through some practical examples to enable me to understand which format would best suit the needs of my clients."
Mike Logan, Northamptonshire, Earth Solutions
"I’ve spent a great deal of time with Lara as part of a local entrepreneurial circle. She’s a dynamo of inspiration. Every month when we met up I would be astounded at what she had achieved. When Lara sets herself a goal she knuckles down and works hard to deliver her dreams. Her passion for her business and the construction industry is evident. She’s a role-model to everyone in WPS, The Circle of Influence Entrepreneurial Group and the construction industry."
Lisa Wright, Entrepreneur and Creative Writer
"We have used WastePlan over the last few years to manage the SWMPs for our projects and we are now switching to SitePlan. For us it provides the ideal solution for producing Site Waste Management Plans. It is so easy to use we can do the work in-house very cost-effectively. We like that it is online and plans can be accessed from anywhere or we can produce a pdf report and email it to whoever we need to, e.g. a BREEAM Assessor or a Planning Department. It also ensures that our Duty Of Care responsibilities are satisfied."
Gary Dingwall, Clarkehaus.
"Bothwall Construction have been using the services of WPS Ltd on our Furnival St. project. Their consultants have been assisting us with :- Site Waste Management Plan, Site Impacts, Procurement Strategies, s106 planning obligations, FORs & CLOCS compliance, NRMM compliance and the supply of skips (brokering). We are more than happy with the performance and attitude of their consultants and, in addition, they have assisted us to achieve in excess of 35 points under the Considerate Constructors Scheme, which was also a necessity."
Huw Wines, Bothwell Construction
"Lara has been an accredited trainer for the Chartered Institute of Wastes Management (CIWM) for the last few years and I have always enjoyed working with her. She has helped us to create a construction industry-specific version of the Duty of Care course. Her engagement and passion within the construction waste part of our sector is excellent and we always receive excellent feedback from the courses she delivers. It is great to work with someone as enthusiastic and reliable as Lara. "
Claire Poole, Professional Development Manager, CIWM
"Thank you for speaking to the Masters students yesterday, Lara. The students were unanimous in their praise of your presentation and passion."
Mark Bateman, Senior Lecturer, Coventry University
"Thank you so much for talking at our event (you’re definitely the most passionate professional I have heard!) and for joining us at the dinner."
Celine Anouilh Regional Development Officer (Cymru) CIWM
Waste Crime is large and growing and it’s time for the overwhelming number of “good-boys” to stand proud and differentiate their businesses. But, it’s not easy with forthcoming waste exemptions likely to reduce flexibility in their operations.

Activated carbon is a highly versatile absorbent material that is widely used for abatement processes. In the waste industry it is often used in treatment of odours or entrapment of volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
We get involved with implementing NRMM (Non Road Mobile Machinery) compliance on construction sites in London and also preparing Noise, Dust and Vibration (NDV) Plans as well as Air Quality & Dust Management Plans (AQDMP).
